🏑 The Power Of Giving To God
Giving thanks is a HUGE key to walking with God. Psalm 100:4 says, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” I don’t pretend to understand how or why, but there is something about giving thanks to God that unleashes the manifestation of His presence.
1. Jesus Calls Us to Obey. In Jesus Christ, we find the perfect model of obedience. As his disciples, we follow Christ's example as well as his commands. Our motivation for obedience is love: If you love me, you will keep my commandments. (John 14:15, ESV ) 2. Obedience Is an Act of Worship.

3) Counteract our anger by obeying Ephesians 4:32: “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you”; and. 4) Deal with any sinful feelings by believing and acting upon the truth of 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from
How to make your sacrifice acceptable. Give yourself first to God (2 Corinthians 8:1-5) Give it for the love you have for God (1 Kings 3:3) Give willingly (Genesis 22:9-10) Give in worship of God ( Genesis 22:5) Give expectantly ( Hebrews 11:17-18)
This life-giving Spirit is set in contrast to the death of the body. Death—bodily and spiritually—is the consequence for sin (Gen. 2:15-17). Apart from the indwelling Spirit of God, we can have no true life, because the absence of the Spirit proves that the Lord has not justified us, and without justification, there can be no life (Rom. 3:
(4) Who gave himself.--Surrendered Himself, of His own free act and will, to those who sought His death. The phrase has a parallel in Titus 2:14, and appears in its full and complete form in the Gospel saying (Matthew 20:28; Mark 10:45): "The Son of Man came to give His life a ransom for many "; and in 1Timothy 2:6: "Who gave Himself a ransom" (the word is here a compound, which brings out
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace. Isaiah 9:6,7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace…
Alternately, words can build up and be life-giving (Proverbs 18:21; Ephesians 4:29; Romans 10:14–15). Of all the creatures on this planet, only humans have the ability to communicate through the spoken word. The power to use words is a unique and powerful gift from God. Our words have the power to destroy and the power to build up (Proverbs
- The working of miracles; literally, active, efficacy of powers; such as "the signs of an apostle," to which St. Paul himself appealed in 2 Corinthians 12:12, which included "wonders and mighty powers" (comp. Romans 15:18). Prophecy. Not "prediction," but elevated and inspired discourse; the power of preaching to edification.
God wants our faith in Him to grow exponentially. He is fully prepared to demonstrate His power to confirm our faith in both His character and His strength (Ephesians 4:7–16; Philippians 1:3–8; Colossians 2:6–7). Strength in times of difficulty: There are those moments in life when everything seems to be against us.
Grace is the powerful work of God in a Christian’s heart to make him willing and able to do His will. Nothing short of grace-giving is biblical giving. It was only through the grace of God that the churches of Macedonia gave so sacrificially out of their own deep poverty. As 2 Corinthians 8:3 explains, God’s grace motivated these Christians
